For telehealth platforms and EHRs
Compounding pharmacy fulfillment.
One API for your platform.
Affinity connects your prescribing application to compounding pharmacy workflows. Prepare orders for connected practices, submit after clinician review, and follow fulfillment without building a separate order workflow for each pharmacy.
From your application to the pharmacy
Keep prescribing in your application
Your platform authenticates the clinician and collects their review and signing intent. Affinity validates authority and the exact prescription revision before signing and submission.
Connect practices to pharmacy fulfillment
Manage patients and orders for your connected practices through one API. Use catalog and shipping options to prepare prescriptions for the selected pharmacy and patient destination.
Track each prescription after submission
Read order state and receive signed webhooks for pharmacy acceptance, fulfillment exceptions, and shipment progress. Inspect each prescription's result when an order partially submits.
Recover from interrupted requests
Idempotency keys let your backend retry an uncertain mutation. Webhook event IDs, delivery history, and replay help you recover missed updates without treating every delivery as a new event.
Build and test the complete workflow
Start with a Test API key
Create a platform account and make your first request from your backend. Test mode uses synthetic data and simulated fulfillment, so you can exercise the workflow before requesting Live access.
Make your first requestPrepare and review the order
Connect the practice, resolve the patient and prescriber, and create an unsigned draft. Show the clinician the complete order and collect their attestation to the revision they reviewed.
Build the prescribing workflowSubmit and follow fulfillment
Sign and submit with an authorized key, then inspect the prescription results. Submission and pharmacy acceptance are separate events. Use order reads and verified webhooks to keep your application current.
Handle order events
Plan the move to Live
Test access is available after platform setup. Live access requires Affinity approval. An approved platform can enable its practices for Live ordering; every prescription still needs an authorized clinician and an eligible product, pharmacy, and patient destination.
Your platform owns clinician authentication and collection of signing intent. Affinity records the attestation and checks the reviewed prescription revision. Controlled substances are not supported.
Use the Test and Live guide to plan access, and the API reference for current request and response contracts.
